24 June 2007: Well, I've thought for some time that I should write a book about vampires, but I doubt "the nature of blogging" will be any help with that (and I'm sure that the book such a venture would generate is already gathering dust in bargain bins across the nation).
Oops, I should get to my news before my random rantings. I plan on being at the Downtown Farmers' Market on Saturday 7 July 2007. I will not just be there to check out the fresh produce; I will be buskingI've applied for a license and everything. I'm thinking I'll be there every other week (on the Saturdays that I'm not working at the library). So come on out and listen to me singing to the peas and potatoes.
7 May 2007: I've started a new blog, Wearing the Moon. It's hard to say exactly why I felt compelled to have yet another space on the internet, especially as I've hardly been posting anything to the sites I already have, but since I use this site to promote my music and other projects (I guess I think of it as my artistic hub) it seems less appropriate to go on about my personal life here. I have had the idea in the back of my mind for quite some time that I should write a book about my marriage, but I never start. I think it's because I want the story to have a beginning, middle and end before I start writing. The nature of blogging may help me around the problem. It's worth a shot.
28 April 2007: Masami and I have been approved for a loan to buy our house! This is good (though having a mortgage payment every month is not exactly something I'm looking forward to). It is very much a relief to see this phase of things completed, even though I suspect it signals hard work ahead.
I'm not inclined to go into detail about the actual event (as who knows who may read this), but isn't it a bit annoying to be told off for doing something with a grin and the words, "You don't need to do that"? It could just be me.
Some light reading for you: Saul Williams's open letter to Oprah Winfrey on the roots of sexism in hip-hop.
10 February 2007: The page for Questionable Fidelity is up now on CD Baby. I'm going through it and checking that all the sound sample links work as I write this. It plays two minutes of a song, just long enough to get into if it's the sort of thing you'd get into, then it stops or jarringly begins the next track if you're playing the full album stream.
Hey, and it looks like Masami and I will have another little kid at the end of August. It's somewhat stressful and Masami has been quite sick; it's kind of exciting though.
Looking for something? If it's part of this site you can find it on the sitemap.
If you've something to say to me, you can send it here.

This
page was initially designed at a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 in 32-bit
True Color mode using Mozilla 1.2.1 and Microsoft Notepad 5. It should also look OK at 800 x
600. I am currently using Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.4
during site updates. The site has been tested in Opera 7.51, in which it displays correctly,
Microsoft Internet Explorers 5.5 and 6, in which it displays acceptably, Internet Explorer
5.01, which is not quite as good as 5.5, Netscape 4.8, in which it looks abysmal (if you are using
Netscape 4.x, please take the time to upgrade to something else - your online experience, not
just with this site, but with a vast multitude of others, will improve dramatically), and Netscape
3.04, which actually displays things fairly well, though all the pretty colors are gone. There are
screenshots of the site displayed in all the browsers listed above.
I have checked the validity of this page's HTML with the W3C MarkUp Validation Service. This page is valid HTML
4.01 Strict, usually. Occasionally, I will paste a link into my HTML without noticing that it
contains an ampersand; I'm getting better about that, slowly.
Here's what I've been listening to lately (so says Last.fm):
